Roma boss Rudi Garcia will discuss offers over £80m for Kevin Strootman

Garcia: 'Strootman will cost United £80m'

Roma manager Rudi Garcia has responded to rumours linking Kevin Strootman with a move to Manchester United by saying the club would consider listening to offers in excess of £80m.

Strootman joined Roma last summer for around £15m and went on to be one of the top players in Europe until he tore his cruciate knee ligament in March.

United are reportedly in the market for midfield additions this summer, and Strootman is said to be Louis van Gaal's first-choice target, though Roma have no intention of selling their star Dutchman unless an offer that is to good to refuse comes in.

"He's on the road to a full recovery," Garcia is quoted as saying by Football Italia. "A possible sale to Manchester United? What can I say to these rumours? For over £80m we can sit around a table and think about it."

United defeated Roma 3-2 in a friendly yesterday to leave Louis van Gaal unbeaten as Red Devils boss after two games at the helm.
