Nicolas Gaitan committed to Benfica

Benfica attacker Nicolas Gaitan plays down talks of a move to Manchester United.

Benfica attacker Nicolas Gaitan has insisted that he will remain fully committed to the Portuguese club.

The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, but he has insisted that he will "respect" his contract with his current team.

"I am at Benfica now. I have a contract until 2016 and I want to respect that. If an offer comes in like the one that Benfica received for Nemanja Matic, we'll see what happens," he told reporters.

"But for now, I am just thinking about playing football and the rest does not depend on me."

Gaitan joined Benfica from Boca Juniors in 2010.
