Erik ten Hag will reportedly attempt to sign PSV Eindhoven attacker Cody Gakpo if he is appointed as Manchester United's new head coach at the end of the season.
The Ajax manager has emerged as the favourite for the position at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils believed to be currently sounding out the compensation fee needed to release him from his Dutch club.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag is a huge admirer of Gakpo and is likely to target the 22-year-old if he is named as Man United's new boss in the coming months.
The Netherlands international only signed a new long-term contract with PSV in January but is expected to be available for the right price during this summer's transfer window.
Gakpo has been in impressive form for his Dutch club during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 16 times and registering 15 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
Man United are said to be keen to sign four new players in the upcoming market, including a centre-forward, with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane currently being strongly linked with the 20-time English champions.
