Borussia Dortmund 'will consider Mats Hummels bids'

Borussia Dortmund will consider offers for defender Mats Hummels, according to chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that the club will consider offers for defender Mats Hummels this summer.

The German international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United at the end of the season, and Hummels himself has hinted that a move away from the Bundesliga outfit will be good for his career.

However, Watzke has warned that it will be Die Borussien who decide whether Hummels will leave or not.

Watzke is quoted by The Guardian as saying: "In this moment, this a total dummy discussion, because there is no offer. If one arrives, we will discuss it internally and make a decision. But this decision will only be taken by BVB.

"The situation at Dortmund is like this: We've lost one major player each year, but we don't stop playing football. To be clear, Mats knows his contractual situation, he described it in that interview himself.

"The decision where Mats will play next season will only be taken by BVB."

Hummels joined Borussia from Bayern Munich in 2009.
