'Desperate' United see Pukki approach rejected?

Manchester United have reportedly failed with an approach for Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki.

The Red Devils, who completed a deal for Bruno Fernandes on Thursday, are believed to be desperate to sign a new forward before the January transfer window closes for business on Friday night.

According to The Independent, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side approached Norwich to determine whether a deal for Pukki would be possible before the deadline.

However, the report claims that the Canaries insisted that the 29-year-old 'was not available under any circumstances' as the club battle to stay in the Premier League.

Pukki played a key role in firing Daniel Farke's side to promotion last season and has proved himself at the top level during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 11 times in 23 appearances.

Bournemouth's Joshua King, Southampton's Danny Ings and Dalian Yifang's Salomon Rondon have also all been linked with moves to the 20-time English champions.
