Hull City boss Steve Bruce believes that Wayne Rooney will stay at Manchester United, even if they sign Radamel Falcao.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce believes that Wayne Rooney will still have a part to play at Manchester United if the club clinch the signature of Radamel Falcao.

The North-West outfit have emerged as potential suitors for the Colombian, with reports claiming that United have already agreed a deal with the striker's Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

Following the speculation of Falcao's arrival, there were suggestions that Rooney could be shown the door in the summer.

"I wouldn't say [signing Falcao] was the end for Wayne Rooney," Bruce told talkSPORT. "People keep stirring it up and Sir Alex Ferguson keeps playing it down. I'm sure Wayne Rooney still has a big part to play.

"You wouldn't be surprised to see Manchester United sign [Falcao] because their greatest strength is the way they keep improving [the squad]."

Meanwhile, United can wrap up the Premier League title race if they defeat Stoke City and Aston Villa over the next fortnight.
