Benfica president rules out Joao Felix exit?

Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira has seemingly suggested that Joao Felix will not be sold during the summer transfer window.

Felix has emerged as one of the top prospects in Europe, with a total of 16 goals and eight assists coming from 28 outings in Portugal's top flight and the Europa League.

A number of high-profile clubs - including Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus - have been linked with an approach for the 19-year-old, but it appears that Vieira has no intention of cashing in on the club's biggest asset.

Vieira told the club's official website: "In relation to our youngsters, mainly those that are today part of our main squad, Benfica will do everything so that no one leaves.

"I can practically say and guarantee to Benfica fans that no one will leave. I'm one of the biggest mentors of this project and I will do everything within my power to ensure that no one leaves this year or next if possible."

Felix currently has a release clause of €120m (£103.71m) in his contract, but Benfica want to increase that in the coming months.
