Arsenal 'to beat United to Sunderland teen'

Arsenal allegedly emerge as favourites to see off Manchester United in the race to sign Sunderland teenager Logan Pye.

Arsenal have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to sign Sunderland teenager Logan Pye.

With the full-back being just 15 years of age, the Gunners are unable to push through a deal for the prospect at this time.

However, Pye turns 16 next month, and it is expected that a number of Premier League clubs will attempt to agree terms for the youngster.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are the favourites to sign the England Under-16 international, edging out Manchester United in the process.

The report adds that the North-West giants had initially been tipped to win the race for Pye, only for Arsenal to now be regarded as the top contenders for his signature.
