Agent Jonathan Barnett blasts reports that winger Gareth Bale could leave Real Madrid before the end of the current transfer window.

Agent Jonathan Barnett has hit out at reports linking Gareth Bale with a summer transfer away from Real Madrid.

With the La Liga and Champions League holders said to hold an interest in AS Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, it has been claimed that Bale may be allowed to leave the Bernabeu should they receive a suitable offer.

Manchester United had been touted as a possible destination, but Bale has always insisted that he is happy in Spain and his representative has backed up the Welsh star's stance.

When questioned over the rumours, Barnett told BBC Sport: "It's a ridiculous, stupid story."

Bale has recently revealed that he is motivated by attempting to complete the treble next season after Real only missed out on the Copa del Rey during the most recent campaign.
