Team News: Alexis Sanchez fit to start Arsenal's trip to Old Trafford

Arsene Wenger makes three changes for Arsenal's trip to Old Trafford, while Jose Mourinho brings in four players following the win over Swansea City a fortnight ago.

Alexis Sanchez has been deemed fit enough to start for Arsenal against Manchester United at Old Trafford, while Wayne Rooney is left on the bench for the hosts.

The Gunners had been left sweating on the Chilean's fitness after the influential attacker picked up a hamstring injury on international duty, but he has successfully shaken off the knock and is given the nod to feature from the off.

That means that boss Arsene Wenger has made minimal change to his side's attacking ranks from the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur a fortnight ago, bringing in Aaron Ramsey for Alex Iwobi on the right of a three-man attacking midfield.

Carl Jenkinson also comes in for the injured Hector Bellerin, who is out for around a month with an ankle problem, while Mohamed Elneny is preferred to Granit Xhaka alongside Francis Coquelin in defensive midfield.

In terms of the home side, who are currently well off the pace in the Premier League title race following a disappointing run of form, manager Jose Mourinho has made four changes to his side from the win over Swansea City 13 days ago.

The big news is that Marcus Rashford is selected up top in place of the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with skipper Rooney - reportedly on the brink of losing his England captaincy - having to settle for a place on the bench.

Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial are the other three players to come into the starting lineup, as Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini join Rooney in dropping out - the Belgian failing to make the squad altogether.

Arsenal are seeking a first league win at Old Trafford since 2006, which will be enough to lift them top of the Premier League table.

Manchester United: De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian; Carrick, Herrera; Mata, Pogba, Martial; Rashford
Subs: Romero, Blind, Schneiderlin, Lingard, Young, Memphis, Rooney

Arsenal: Cech; Jenkinson, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Elneny; Walcott, Ozil, Ramsey; Sanchez
Subs: Ospina, Gabriel, Gibbs, Xhaka, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Iwobi, Giroud
