Team News: Tom Cleverley handed Manchester United captaincy against Roma

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has named midfielder Tom Cleverley as his captain for tonight's friendly against Roma.

The Red Devils, who kicked off their summer tour of the United States with an emphatic 7-1 victory against Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday, take on the Serie A side in the International Champions Cup.

Van Gaal has handed a start to Sam Johnstone in goal, with a back three of Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and youngster Tyler Blackett.

Further forward, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Juan Mata also start at the Sports Authority Field, as United continue their pre-season preparations.
