Ashley Young praises Anthony Martial debut display in win over Liverpool

Man United winger Ashley Young believes that Anthony Martial produced a fine display on his debut by sealing his side's win with a sublime solo goal at Old Trafford.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has hailed the debut display of Anthony Martial in his side's win over Liverpool.

The 19-year-old secured the victory for the Red Devils in the dying minutes when he weaved between two defenders and slotted the ball past Simon Mignolet to notch a debut goal following his £36m move from AS Monaco.

"It was a fantastic individual bit of skill, [there was] maybe a bit of luck in there as well, but the way he finished it was incredible and it's a great start from him," Young told Sky Sports News.

"It's early days for him - he's been away on international duty and only trained the last couple of days with us - but he's young and he wants to learn.

"Morgan is his translator as he doesn't speak much English yet, but if he can go out on the pitch and talk like that, that's enough for us."

United moved to second in the Premier League following their win over Liverpool.
