Manchester United's Louis van Gaal expects Diego Costa to line up for Chelsea

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal believes that Diego Costa will play for Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, despite the striker's recent bout of injury and illness.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that Diego Costa will be in the starting lineup for Chelsea when the two teams go head to head at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho told reporters today that Costa has a "little chance" of playing in the match following injury problems.

Despite the striker only recently leaving hospital after receiving treatment on a virus, Van Gaal has suggested that he will not be shocked to see Costa start.

"He will play with him when he can because Jose wants to win," the Dutchman said in this afternoon's press conference. "He's scored nine goals in seven games, which is remarkable. So he's in good shape, but he was ill so you never know."

United are 10 points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table.
