Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has said that Marcus Rashford is capable of scoring 40 goals in a season, with the Dutchman convinced that there is "room for involvement" in the forward's game.
The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 30 goals and registering 11 assists in 54 appearances in all competitions.
Rashford is only the 12th player in the history of Man United to score 30 goals in a single season, but Ten Hag has insisted that the club's academy product can add another 10 to his total.
The forward still has another two matches this season to improve his tally, with the Red Devils ending their Premier League campaign against Fulham on Sunday before switching their attention to the FA Cup final against Manchester City next weekend.
"With Marcus, there's a lot of room for improvement in his game and I'm convinced he could score even more," Ten Hag told reporters when asked about the England international.

"I think when you take for instance the last ten games he didn't score so many goals, I think only two or three. He can improve but I'm happy where he was last season and what he did now and that he has brought himself back.
"We supported him where we could with the way of play, but also in his mental mindset. So we are happy with that but yeah, we have to push for more. I'm sure he's capable of scoring 40 goals in the season and to make also for him the next step."
Ten Hag also said in a separate interview with Viaplay that he is confident an announcement will soon be made over a new contract for Rashford.
The forward's existing deal with the 20-time English champions is due to expire next June, but Man United are in advanced talks with him over a new long-term contract.

Rashford has scored 17 times in the Premier League this season, while he also netted six times in the Europa League before Man United's elimination to Sevilla.
The attacker played a leading role in the team's EFL Cup success, scoring six goals in the competition, while he has managed one goal in the FA Cup this season.
Rashford has now represented Man United on 357 occasions in all competitions, scoring 123 goals and registering 68 assists in the process.
The forward has played across the front three this season but has largely operated off the left, and he is likely to continue in that area if the Red Devils sign a new centre-forward this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Napoli's Victor Osimhen's remain leading targets for the club, but it remains to be seen whether Ten Hag's side are able to secure a big-money deal for either player.
