Wayne Rooney to undergo scan?

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is reportedly due to undergo a scan after limping out of training on Thursday.

United will assess the England international's condition on Friday before making a decision on whether or not he will be able to feature against Sunderland this weekend.

According to the Daily Mail, interim manager Ryan Giggs Is unlikely to risk Rooney if he is struggling to be 100% fit for the game at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Robin van Persie is reportedly on the verge of a return against the Black Cats.
