Manchester United's Wayne Rooney open to management after playing career

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney says that he is open to moving into management when he retires from playing.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has admitted that he may consider moving into management when he decides to hang up his boots.

The 28-year-old is a long way from retiring as he gears up for this summer's World Cup in Brazil, but the England international has refused to rule out coaching.

According to ESPN, when asked if he would go into management, Rooney said: "Honestly I don't know, I could be a manager at some point.

"It would depend on circumstances in my life and what chapter of my life I was at with my family and which club it would be."

Rooney signed a new contract worth a reported £300,000 per week at Old Trafford earlier this season.
