Wayne Rooney: 'I want success as Manchester United captain'

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney says that he wants to be successful skipper at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney has revealed his desire to bring success back to Manchester United as captain.

The England international was made skipper of club and country earlier this season, and speaking to Sky Sports News, the United striker talked up his Old Trafford aspirations.

He said: "It's a big responsibility, I'm enjoying it. I want to make sure I'm a successful captain. I want to bring trophies back to this club.

"I want to make sure the players are happy and I want to be successful, and I've got a big role to play in that.

"As a group of lads, we're trying to help [the new signings] settle in. There are a lot of Spanish speakers in the dressing room and English is getting pushed aside a bit!"

United travel to Leicester City this afternoon and you can catch live commentary of the game here.
