Jamie Redknapp prefers Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge over Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney

Former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp backs Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge ahead of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney

Jamie Redknapp feels that Liverpool strikers Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez are a better pairing than Manchester United duo Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney.

The Reds pair have netted 14 goals between them this season, and Sturridge is the Premier League's leading scorer with eight strikes.

United manager David Moyes recently backed his striking duo in the debate, but the former Liverpool captain believes that the Anfield hotshots are leading the way this season.

Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column: "The question is, which is the hottest pairing: Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge or Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie?

"We can have a different opinion, but the stats give the best indication (so I can't be accused of bias). Right now, it's the Liverpool pairing."

Liverpool travel to Arsenal this evening.
