Paul Pogba: 'France a breath of fresh air from Manchester United'

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba admits that he is currently struggling at club level and is pleased to be away with France.

Paul Pogba has admitted that he is going through a "difficult period" with Manchester United and is currently pleased to be receiving "a breath of fresh air" with France.

The 27-year-old has found himself out of United's starting XI in recent weeks, and the Red Devils performed impressively against Everton last time out with the World Cup winner on the bench.

Pogba has conceded that he is going through a tough spell with the 20-time English champions and has suggested that the recent international break came at the perfect time.

"I had never known such a difficult period in my career," Pogba told RTL. "The France team is a breath of fresh air, the group is exceptional, it's magic."

The midfielder struggled to make his mark in France's 2-0 friendly defeat to Finland on November 11 but played the full 90 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 success over Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.

Pogba, who has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2022, continues to be linked with moves to Juventus and Real Madrid.

France are back in action against Sweden in the Nations League on Tuesday night, while United will continue their Premier League season at home to West Bromwich Albion next weekend.
