Nani has called on Manchester United supporters to show "a little bit of patience" with new signing Bruno Fernandes.
After prolonged negotiations with Sporting Lisbon, United announced earlier this week that they had secured the services of the Portugal international on a long-term deal.
Due to United's inconsistent form this season, much is expected from the playmaker, who could make his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday evening.
However, Nani, a former United winger and compatriot of Fernandes, feels that the 25-year-old should be given time to settle in at Old Trafford.
On United's official Twitter account, Nani said: "I just want to wish good luck to Bruno Fernandes and I ask that you guys give him good support, have a little bit of patience for his adaption in the team.
"I'm sure he will prove his qualities and score beautiful goals and I'm missing you guys and the great moments we had. I can see Manchester United coming back and playing the football we love and win titles because once red devil, red devil forever."
Fernandes has contributed 13 goals and 10 assists in Portugal's top flight and the Europa League this season.
