Man United boss Jose Mourinho: 'Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be better at Arsenal'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho claims that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be "even better" for Arsenal than he was during his time at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will produce better performances for Arsenal than he did at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has spoken highly of the Armenian international, who completed a switch to the Emirates Stadium on Monday with Alexis Sanchez heading in the opposite direction.

The Portuguese has reiterated that he is happy for Mkhitaryan to get another opportunity in the Premier League, but has suggested that the playmaker is potentially better suited to Arsene Wenger's style of play.

At a press conference, the 54-year-old said: "I believe Micki is going to be even better than for us. Why? Because one-and-a-half years in England, adapted. Because of the way they play. That's why I'm also happy for him.

"Could he perform better with us, could I take more from his talent, maybe, could he give a little more also to adapt to us, maybe but I don't think regrets, he's in our history, so good feeling for everybody and a very specific transfer between rivals in a big country which I have to say must happen more times."

Mkhitaryan has left United having netted 13 goals from 46 starts and 17 substitute appearances.
