Gary Medel escapes Football Association punishment

Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel avoids punishment from the FA for his altercation with Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini.

Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel will not be punished by the Football Association for his altercation with Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini.

Medel appeared to strike Fellaini in the face during Sunday's 2-2 draw between the sides, but he was not shown a card at the time by referee Neil Swarbrick.

However, English football's governing body have now decided not to issue a retrospective sanction after reviewing the incident.

Kim Bo-Kyung netted a late equaliser in South Wales to secure Cardiff a share of the spoils against the champions.
