Manchester United centre-back Marco Rojo says that he is "raring to go" for the Manchester derby following his return from injury this season.

Manchester United centre-back Marco Rojo has said that he is "raring to go" for the Manchester derby following his return from injury this season.

Rojo, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in April, made his return to the side against Basel in the Champions League last month and has since played 90 minutes at both Watford and Arsenal.

The Argentine has hailed the "hard work" that he put in over the summer that has allowed him to slot back into Jose Mourinho's defence.

"It's great for me to be back on the pitch and feel the love of the fans and the love of the people again," Rojo told MUTV.

"My return has come from the hard work I put in over the summer in Portugal to try to get myself back to peak condition. There were difficult moments and it was tough but, during those times, I relied on my family to help me through and it's great to be back.

"I'm really looking forward to Sunday. It seemed like it was a long way in the distance when I was injured, but now it's here and I'm ready and fit and raring to go."

United could slip 11 points behind City with defeat this weekend, as their derby rivals look to continue their unbeaten run.
