Manchester United break Premier League record in West Ham comeback

Man Utd break Premier League record in West Ham comeback

Manchester United set a new Premier League record for points won from losing positions as they came from behind to beat West Ham United in the capital on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men were off the pace for the best part of an hour and West Ham deservedly took a 1-0 lead into the interval through Tomas Soucek.

However, Solskjaer rang the changes and United soon turned the game on its head, with goals from Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford propelling the Red Devils to yet another away win in the Premier League.

By coming from behind to overcome West Ham at the London Stadium, United broke the record for the most points won from losing positions in the English top flight, with the Red Devils now boasting 385 points after falling behind.

Furthermore, the 2020-21 campaign marks the first time since the Premier League's inception that United have won their first five away matches, a top-flight feat which last occurred in the 1985-86 season under Ron Atkinson.

A win at Sheffield United on December 17 would see United win their 10th away game in a row in the Premier League, with Solskjaer's men fourth in the table following their win at West Ham.
