Javier Hernandez denies swipe at Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie

Javier Hernandez denies that he took a swipe at Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie with an Instagram post.

Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez has refuted suggestions that he launched a dig at teammate Robin van Persie.

The Mexican international recently posted an image on Instagram of himself and teammate Patrice Evra with the caption: "Without your teammates you can't be somebody in football, always be thankful..."

It was assumed that Hernandez was taking a swipe at Van Persie, who was recently quoted as saying that United's tactics result in his teammates getting in his way on the pitch.

Hernandez clarified his comment last night by tweeting: "Before I go to sleep, I need to put this cause things get a little out of context...

"Why do the press always take comments out of context, my comment on Instagram had nothing to do with RVP. We are great teammates working for the same goal, the TEAM! & Cause the team isn't doing as well as we'd like everyone just wants to make everything look like a bad thing!"

United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.
