Sir Alex Ferguson reserves special praise for captain Nemanja Vidic after Manchester United's win over Everton.

Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the determination that his Manchester United side displayed at Goodison Park this afternoon.

A headed goal from Javier Hernandez was enough for United to claim all three points against Everton.

After the match the manager revealed that he was delighted with captain Nemanja Vidic in particular.

"Everybody finds it difficult [coming] here, the supporters are fantastic. They are fantastic at home and you have to perform," he told Sky Sports News.

"In the first half I thought the football we played was terrific.

"In the second half Everton kept popping that ball into the box but with Vidic in that type of form we were never in trouble. He was fantastic, every ball he seemed to head clear."

United remain five points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table.
