Ferguson: 'Glazers are fantastic for Man Utd'

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the club's owners for their improvement of the training facilities during his time at Old Trafford.

The Scot retired at the end of last season after 27 years in charge, and he hailed the work of the Glazer family since they took ownership of the club in 2005.

"I backed the Glazers because of the support they give the manager and the club, and the improvements they made to the training facilities," Ferguson told Channel 4.

"Thanks to the Glazers, we have the best training ground in Britain, and I'd say it was our best ever signing the training ground; it's fantastic.

"Don't forget anything in business is done with debt and it is an area where Michel Platini is trying to rein in with the Financial Fair Play, but I don't know how you control it."

Meanwhile, Ferguson, whose autobiography has been recently released, has made several headlines today, including why he thought he had to sell David Beckham to Real Madrid in 2003.
