Rio Ferdinand describes week of David Moyes's sacking as "eventful"

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand describes the week of David Moyes's sacking as "eventful" on Twitter.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has called on his teammates to grab all three points against Norwich City following an "eventful" week for the club.

Manager David Moyes was dismissed on Tuesday, less than 10 months after he was appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor at Old Trafford.

In Moyes's statement via the League Managers' Association, he thanked Ferguson and his coaching staff, but there was no mention of the players in his parting words.

Ferdinand, who has been linked with a move away from United in the summer, wrote on Twitter: "Roll on match day....been an eventful week to say the least....looking for a good performance & result. #Mufc"

Ryan Giggs will take interim charge of the first team until the end of the season, alongside ex-players Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes.
