Rio Ferdinand could miss Arsenal match

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is a major injury doubt ahead of his side's trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

The centre-back broke down in training on Thursday with a back problem, forcing him to miss Friday's session, according to Goal.com.

The 33-year-old has suffered with a number of back problems over the past year.

Phil Jones and Chris Smalling could replace Ferdinand in defence after being passed fit.
