Radamel Falcao denies leaving Old Trafford early

Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao denies claims that he left Old Trafford before the 1-0 loss to Southampton, having been left out of the squad.

Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has moved to quell rumours of a rift between him and manager Louis van Gaal.

The Colombian striker, currently on loan at United from AS Monaco, was left out of the squad for Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford and was subsequently reported to have refused to stay and watch the game.

However, the 28-year-old, whose future has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, has denied those reports on Twitter, insisting that he met Van Gaal in the tunnel after the game.

Falcao initially retweeted a Spanish tweet from a journalist that translated to: "@FALCAO went to Old Trafford on sunday. Even he met Louis Van Gaal at the tunnel after the game. The manager and my sources confirmed it."

The striker then sent his own message out on the social networking site that translated to: "Moreover, van Gaal ratified it in a press conference and I confirmed it personally. You have to filter what is said and written on here.// Learn."

Earlier today, Falcao's agent admitted that his client's future at United was uncertain.
