Jonny Evans: 'Manchester United title bid is probably over'

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans admits that the team's chances of winning the Premier League are 'probably over'.

Jonny Evans has admitted that Manchester United's bid to win the Premier League title is 'probably over' following their defeat to Chelsea.

The Red Devils are now 11 points adrift of the leaders after succumbing to a 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Despite their chances of silverware being all but over, Evans insists that qualifying for the Champions League would still be a good achievement for the team.

"Obviously, winning the league has probably gone, but there is still pressure at Manchester United," the Northern Ireland international told MUTV. "I think the lads have been thriving on that over the last couple of months.

"I think it'll be good to end the season with a big challenge for us, but it's one I like to think we're up to. We've been used to that over the years, having pressure, and, this time, it's to qualify for the Champions League."

Evans is available for United's trip to Everton this weekend after serving a six-match ban for spitting at Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.
