Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater says that his side did not deserve to lose their Premier League encounter with Manchester United on Sunday.

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater has said that his side did not deserve to lose their Premier League encounter with Manchester United on Sunday.

The former Leicester City man started alongside N'Golo Kante as the Blues, who took the lead through Willian, lost 2-1 after Romelu Lukaku's equaliser and assist of Jesse Lingard in the second half.

Drinkwater has said that the Blues deserved more from the game, but insisted that his side must look forward to their next match.

"We definitely deserved more, first half we were dominant," the midfielder told BBC Sport. "[The] first half was more even, but we didn't deserve to lose that match, no way.

"Obviously there are bits we can improve on, first of all we can improve on not conceding, and scoring more goals, but football can sometimes go against you and today's one of those days."

Chelsea face another crunch Premier League clash next weekend when they travel to Manchester City.
