David de Gea: 'I have improved this year'

Manchester United goalkeeper and reported Real Madrid target David de Gea believes that he has improved as a player this season.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has claimed that he has improved as a player this season.

The Spaniard has been one of the club's standout performers throughout their bid to return to the Champions League, with his displays earning him a place in the PFA Team of the Year last month.

The 24-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, described himself as "satisfied" with both his personal and the team's performance this season, but insists that he is still eyeing further improvement in the future.

"Yes, I have [improved this year]," he told Inside United.

"I'm very young and I always try to keep getting better, in every training session, every match, and I think it's been a very productive season for me.

"I'm still growing as a player; I'm very satisfied with the season that I and we have had."

De Gea was named the club's Player of the Year last season and is the favourite to pick up that award again this term.
