David de Gea confident of title success

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea says that the club are aiming to win every competition that they have entered this season.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has said that he is confident the club can win the Premier League this season.

The 23-year-old has admitted that a club of United's stature must be winning trophies every season, while revealing the teams he believes stand a chance of challenging them for the title.

"You always want to win the league," he told the club's official website. "But United is a club that has to win trophies, so we're not only aiming to win the league - we also want to win the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup. Every competition we enter we try to win.

"This season there are so many teams playing well and I think a number of clubs can challenge. We obviously hope we'll be right up there but you also have to look at Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City... all the usual suspects."

Manchester United visit Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday.
