Cristiano Ronaldo and partner Georgina Rodriguez announce that their newborn son has died.

Cristiano Ronaldo and partner Georgina Rodriguez have announced that their newborn son has died.

In October 2021, Ronaldo and his partner revealed that they were expecting twins, but the Manchester United forward has posted a message on social media announcing that their newborn son has passed away.

The 37-year-old confirmed the birth of their baby girl, though, and said that her arrival would 'give them the strength to live this moment'.

"It is with deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away," read the message on Instagram. "It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.

"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.

"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."

Man United have since taken to social media to 'send love and strength' to the forward and his family, while messages of support have flooded in from across the world.
