Tom Cleverley learns from watching Manchester United's Paul Scholes

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley says that he learns from Paul Scholes for both club and country.

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has admitted that he looks to teammate Paul Scholes as an example.

The 23-year-old, who started for England in their 8-0 victory over San Marino on Friday, has claimed that he learns from Scholes, who retired from international football nine years ago.

"Scholesey is a great example to have around, just watching and learning," The Express quotes Cleverly as saying. "On the pitch I can learn a lot of things from him, the way he plays his game from short to long.

"He's one of the best in the world, and has been for many years, at keeping the ball. Not only just keeping the ball, but hurting teams.

"That's a big part of Scholesy's game. You can keep the ball as long as you want, playing it sideways 10 yards, but he also hurts teams which you have to have in your game at this level."

Meanwhile, the Three Lions are preparing to take on Montenegro tomorrow.
