Carrick: "It's a big three points"

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has described his side's 2-0 win at Queens Park Rangers as "a big three points".

Carrick scored his first goal in 70 games to temporarily put the Red Devils at the top of the Premier League table.

However, Manchester City's win at home to Arsenal means that United have moved down to second.

"It was important we got the second goal, their keeper made some fantastic saves and we knew we needed the second to give us a cushion," he told Sky Sports News. "It's a big three points."

Sir Alex Ferguson's team next travel to Fulham in the league on Wednesday evening.
