Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has seemingly ruled out taking either the Arsenal or Manchester United jobs before the end of the season.

The 52-year-old has been heavily linked with a number of roles in England after leaving Juventus at the end of last season.

However, the Italian has poured cold water over those rumours in an interview with ESPN, saying that he wants to take a year away from the game before getting back into management.

Allegri said: "I had 18 years as a player and I've been in coaching for 16. I stopped this year after 34. I'm happy.

"I have a chance to reflect, go and talk to people, do things in my private life that I'm passionate about like going to the theatre, some art exhibitions, reading books.

"Next year will be an important year. Important for the choice I end up making and the need to be prepared for it.

"After a year out and five years at Juventus, I don't want to go back into the game and do badly. That would do my head in."

The former AC Milan boss also said that he has been undergoing English lessons as he prepares for his next job after winning 11 trophies in five seasons with Juventus.
