Man Utd players 'unhappy with Tuanzebe being named captain'

Manchester United's players are reportedly unhappy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision to make Axel Tuanzebe captain for their EFL Cup tie against Rochdale.

The 21-year-old central defender was handed the armband for the penalty shootout win following a 1-1 draw despite being one of the youngest players on the pitch and making just his 11th start for the club.

Paul Pogba, who is five years older and has previously captained United, played on the day but was snubbed in favour of the youngster, a decision that has not gone down well with many in the dressing room, according to the Daily Mail.

However, it is thought the Norwegian's decision was partly down to the fact that Tuanzebe had spent his childhood in Rochdale, having moved there at an early age from DR Congo.

Additionally, Tuanzebe, who spent last season on loan with Aston Villa in the Championship, had captained United at every age group before being handed the armband on Wednesday night.
