Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Everton

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final against Everton at Goodison Park.

Manchester United will be looking to carry their fine Premier League form over to the EFL Cup when they face Everton in their quarter-final tie at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils have won six and lost none of their last seven top-flight outings, including a madcap 6-2 hammering of bitter rivals Leeds United on Sunday to move up to third place.

However, they face an Everton side that currently sit level on points with them in the Premier League and who are also heading into this match in winning form.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Scott McTominay

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Scott McTominay was the unlikely hero in the opening stages against Leeds, creating Premier League history with two goals in the opening three minutes. The midfielder's thirst for a hat-trick kept him bombing forward, and on one of those forward runs late in the game he picked up a groin problem which forced him off before the end. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that the injury is nothing serious, but he will miss this game.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer also confirmed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka picked up an injury against Leeds during a challenge and will miss this match as a result. However, like McTominay, Solskjaer is hopeful that it is nothing serious.

Luke Shaw

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fatigue
Possible return date: December 23 (vs. Everton)

Luke Shaw was also forced off against Leeds, having been ill in the days leading up to the game and not trained as a result. Solskjaer confirmed that the full-back is a doubt for this one, but he should be available even if he is likely to be rested.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Jones has been sidelined with a knee injury for the entire season so far and is not expected back until the New Year.

Marcos Rojo

Marcos Rojo will also not play again this year due to a calf injury, and may have even played his last game for Man United given the speculation over his future.
