Louis van Gaal: 'Luke Shaw very positive about rehabilitation process'

Van Gaal: 'Luke Shaw feels very positive'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that injured left-back Luke Shaw has begun the rehabilitation process on his broken leg.

The England international is expected to be sidelined for at least six months after suffering a double fracture during the team's Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven earlier this month.

After undergoing two operations in Holland, Shaw has returned to the North-West of England to begin recovery.

"He was very positive [when I spoke to him last night], which is amazing for me," Van Gaal told MUTV. "It's a very good signal. We have started rehabilitation. He shall be visited at home for the first electro muscle stimulants."

With Shaw out of action, Van Gaal faces a dilemma over team selection for Saturday's match against Sunderland as defenders Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair are also absent due to injuries.
