Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Manchester United will miss "really, really influential" centre-back Raphael Varane.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the Red Devils will miss "really, really influential" Raphael Varane, with the centre-back set for another spell on the sidelines.

The France international only made his return from a muscular problem against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend before starting Tuesday's clash with Atalanta BC.

Varane was forced off in the first half of the Champions League contest, though, and a statement from Man United revealed that the World Cup winner had picked up a hamstring problem.

Solskjaer has said that the former Real Madrid centre-back could miss "four or five weeks", and the Norwegian admitted that the injury is "a blow" for the 20-time English champions.

"With all the technology now, you expect him to be out for four or five weeks with the scans we've seen of him. It's a blow for us. Raphael has come in and been really, really influential," Solskjaer told reporters.

The 28-year-old has made nine appearances for Man United since his arrival over the summer, including six outings in the Premier League.
