Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension issues ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

Manchester United will be looking to make it four Premier League victories in a row when they head to struggling Aston Villa on Thursday night.

The Red Devils have been in excellent form since returning to action last month, taking 10 points from four matches to leave themselves firmly in the race for the top four.

United thumped Bournemouth 5-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday and sit just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the table, while they are only three points off third-placed Leicester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the team's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Villa, who are currently battling to escape the relegation zone.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Tuanzebe has not featured for United since December, having been on the sidelines with a hamstring problem in the early stages of 2020, and Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed ahead of the Bournemouth clash that the Englishman was unlikely to resume training until September.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Jones has not featured for United since January, and the central defender is "a few weeks" away from resuming training with the club, Solskjaer confirmed ahead of the Bournemouth clash. As a result, there is a chance that he could be on the sidelines for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: July 9 (vs. Villa)

Lindelof was replaced at the interval of United's 5-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, with the Swede forced off due to a back problem. However, Solskjaer revealed after the match that the issue was not serious, and he is likely to be available for the clash at Villa Park.
