Man United injury, suspension news vs. Bournemouth: Amad Diallo, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee updates

Amad, De Ligt, Zirkzee updates: Man United injury, suspension news vs. Bournemouth

Manchester United will be bidding to win in the Premier League for the first time since the middle of March when they head to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon to tackle Bournemouth.

The Red Devils have lost three of their last four in England's top flight, with a disastrous campaign leaving them down in 14th spot in the Premier League table, boasting only 38 points from 33 matches.

Ruben Amorim's side are chasing European glory late in the season, though, with the 20-time English champions present in the semi-finals of the Europa League, and the first leg of their last-four clash against Athletic Bilbao will take place on May 1.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Bournemouth, who are currently eighth in the table, but the Cherries have won just one of their last eight in the league.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: Unknown

Man United defender Dalot is facing a period on the sidelines with a calf problem, and Amorim admitted on Friday that the Portugal international could miss the remainder of the campaign.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Martinez suffered a severe knee injury during Man United's Premier League match against Crystal Palace on February 2, and the Argentina international is expected to be on the sidelines for the remainder of 2025.

Altay Bayindir

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Bournemouth)

Bayindir missed out against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend due to an issue that he sustained in training, and the club's number two goalkeeper remains a major doubt for the contest with Bournemouth.

Amad Diallo

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: May 4 (vs. Brentford)

Amad suffered an ankle injury during a training session in February, which had seemingly ended this season, but it is understood that the attacker could be back on the field at the start of May.

Ayden Heaven

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Bournemouth)

The ankle injury that Heaven suffered against Leicester City before the international break was not as serious as first feared, and the centre-back was back on the bench against Newcastle United on April 13, but he has now missed the team's last two matches, and the ex-Arsenal youngster remains a major doubt for this game.

Matthijs de Ligt

Status: Out Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: May 1 (vs. Athletic Bilbao)

De Ligt has now missed Man United's last five matches with a foot injury, but the Netherlands international is in the latter stages of his recovery, and a spot against Athletic next week has not yet been ruled out.

Joshua Zirkzee

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Man United will be missing Zirkzee for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, with the Netherlands international picking up a hamstring injury during the team's loss to Newcastle in the Premier League on April 13.

Toby Collyer

Status: Out Type of injury: Leg Possible return date: May 4 (vs. Brentford)

Collyer will again be unavailable for selection this weekend due to "a small issue in his leg", but the midfielder could potentially return for the clash with Brentford on May 4.
