Alexis Sanchez's record vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole looks at Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez's record in previous meetings with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United will be looking to maintain their impressive home record against Tottenham Hotspur when the sides lock horns on Monday evening.

The Red Devils have won 21 of their 26 Premier League meetings with Spurs at Old Trafford, including victories in each of the last four without conceding a goal.

Jose Mourinho has a number of big selection calls to make for his side's second home outing of the campaign, having lost 3-2 at Brighton & Hove Albion last time out.

Among those expected to come back in is Alexis Sanchez, who missed that shock defeat on the south coast because of a "little problem".

Here, Sports Mole looks at Sanchez's previous record in meetings with Tottenham.

Sanchez vs. Spurs

It has been close to a decade since the Chile international first faced off against Spurs, as his Udinese side picked up a 2-0 win in their UEFA Cup group-stage clash in Italy.

Sanchez then moved to Barcelona and on to Arsenal, where he became a pain in the Lilywhites' side with a couple of North London derby goals.

A record of two strikes and zero assists in eight league and cup outings, though, was not exactly a prolific return from his three-and-a-half years at the Emirates Stadium.

The 29-year-old has since featured twice against Spurs for current club Man United and, after a disappointing showing in the Red Devils' 2-0 loss at Wembley Stadium on his debut in January, Sanchez proved the best player on the field as his side claimed a 2-1 win in April's FA Cup semi-final at the same ground.

United supporters will now be hoping for a repeat of that goalscoring display from four months ago when Spurs visit Old Trafford for the pick of this matchday's fixtures.
