Sir Alex Ferguson says that winning the Champions League is more important for Manchester United than FA Cup triumph.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he prefers winning the Champions League to achieving success in the FA Cup.

However, the Scotsman believes that the English competition still "holds the romance" and is the "best domestic cup in the world".

"The Champions League, without doubt, is the bigger challenge," The Sun quotes him as saying. "You have all the big clubs in there.

"Let's be honest, would you rather be at West Ham or Real Madrid? It's a fact of life.

"The FA Cup is still the best domestic cup in the world. It still holds the romance about it when you are waiting for the draw."

United are away at West Ham United in the third round on Saturday.
