Jess Thorup highlights Manchester United's set-piece weakness

FC Midtjylland head coach Jess Thorup says that his team will be looking to profit from Manchester United's problems defending set pieces.

Jess Thorup has conceded that his FC Midtjylland side will attempt to capitalise on Manchester United's frailties from set pieces when the two sides meet in the Europa League tomorrow night.

Since Louis van Gaal took charge of the Red Devils in July 2014, 19 goals have been shipped from free kicks or corners.

Meanwhile, only Atletico Madrid scored more goals from set-play situations than Midtjylland in Europe last season.

With that in mind, head coach Thorup has said that it is only logical that the Danes will look to profit from that type of scenario.

"Of course we have talked about it. We have noticed that and analysed it. Everybody knows we're good at set pieces so we will try and do that tomorrow again," he told reporters.

"We have practised defence and offence, but we know that games like this can be decided by set-pieces so of course we have worked on that."

United have made the trip to Denmark without captain Wayne Rooney, who has picked up a knee injury.
