Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Astana

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Europa League meeting with Astana.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to rest a few key players for Manchester United's meeting with Kazakhstani champions Astana in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Norwegian already has a burgeoning injury list and will not want to subject certain players to a trip to an away venue that is closer to Hong Kong than Manchester.

Moreover, there is no pressure on United, whose pair of victories over Partizan prior to the international break cemented their place in the knockout phases.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this fixture.

Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Everton)

Bailly continues to recover from a knee ligament injury sustained over pre-season but has recently made a return to light training ahead of completing a return next month.

Possible return date: December 7 (vs. Manchester City)

The Frenchman's foot problem, initially sustained in August, continues to keep him stuck on the sidelines, with Solskjaer recently confirming that he hopes to have him back by early December.

Luke Shaw

Sidelined since August, Shaw has recently made a return to training after recovering from a thigh problem, although the Englishman still lacks match fitness.

Much like Shaw, Matic has recovered from an unspecified injury but continues to lack appropriate match fitness, with Solskjaer unlikely to risk him on Thursday.

Possible return date: Unknown

One of United's long-term absentees, Fosu-Mensah is back in light training after several months out with knee ligament damage, and it remains to be seen as to when he will be ready for a return to the pitch.

Scott McTominay

Solskjaer confirmed that an ankle injury sustained by McTominay prior to the November international break would keep the midfielder out for "a couple of weeks", meaning that the Manchester derby would be the earliest he could return.
