Team News: Robin van Persie misses out for Manchester United at Real Sociedad

Robin van Persie has been dropped by David Moyes for tonight's trip to Real Sociedad in Champions League Group A.

The Dutchman started at Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday but is replaced in attack by Javier Hernandez in San Sebastian this evening.

Ryan Giggs starts for the visitors, making his 950th appearance for the club in one of six changes from the side that beat Fulham.

Chris Smalling, Rio Ferdinand, Marouane Fellaini and Shinji Kagawa are the other names who come in.

Meanwhile, home side Sociedad start with an attacking trio of Agirretxe, Antoine Griezmann and former Arsenal man Carlos Vela.
