Manchester United duo Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand sit out training ahead of Wednesday's Champions League encounter against Real Sociedad.

Manchester United duo Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand have missed training ahead of Wednesday's Champions League encounter at home to Real Sociedad.

Vidic is believed to be suffering from a calf injury, while Ferdinand is struggling with a groin problem.

Meanwhile, Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck also sat out the session at the club's Carrington training complex.

United currently sit at the top of Group A on goal difference after taking four points from their opening two matches.
